The knob was turned down and the door opened. Dozens of residents of Servia used to make this move every single day in order to enter the mansion of Konstantinos Karpou Street to find treatment and hospitalization as Aristides Christakis was operating his clinic on the lower floor of the building.

By opening the door, all at once, popped up images and smells that did not refer to a home or a clinic. The folklore museum of Servia has been housed there since 1998. The building is a kind concession of the doctor's family to the Cultural Club of Servia "The Castles" and is a vivid treasure of historical knowledge of the region.

In the halls of the museum the visitor has the opportunity to see up close typical examples of the popular culture of the region, to learn about the habits of the people who lived in the area decades ago, to get in touch with customs and traditions and finally to connect with the place.

The ark of the cultural heritage of Servia was quickly filled as many people rushed to offer objects that were preserved over the years and their cultural value is immeasurable.

In the museum's ten different rooms, visitors can travel to different eras through the exhibits, which are varied. Dresses, tools, photographs, appliances even a 1920's vintage tractor, evoke memories, images and sounds of other times which, although gone, still have much to teach and many to inspire.
